Once you realize how easy and freakin’ delicious homemade croutons are, you’ll never want to go back to store-bought.

These sourdough bread croutons are the perfect thing to make when you have some leftover bread available.

Made in the oven or air fryer, homemade croutons are super crunchy and packed with garlic & herb flavor.

As a Registered Dietitian, I love that these croutons are minimally processed and made with a few simple ingredients, including olive oil, salt, and dried herbs.

Use these croutons in your favorite salad (like my kale caesar salad) Ior on top of a warm bowl of soup! This recipe makes about 8 cups of croutons.

Ingredients

  • Sourdough bread: It doesn’t have to be homemade, any store-bought loaf of sourdough bread works great.

  • Garlic powder: Adds a garlicky flavor without using fresh garlic, which can burn.
  • Dried parsley
  • Dried rosemary
  • Salt

Kitchen tools needed

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
