These rosemary air fried fingerling potatoes are so easy to make and totally delicious. Cooking them in your air fryer makes the potatoes perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Just like my oven roasted red mini potatoes, these fingerling potatoes are versatile side dish for any meal.

If you do not have an air fryer, you can make this recipe in your oven instead. It will just take longer to cook the potatoes. This recipe is vegan, gluten free, nut free, and dairy free.
What are fingerling potatoes?
Fingerling potatoes are a variety of heirloom potatoes that grow much smaller than regular potatoes. They have an oblong, cylindrical shape that sometimes resemble fingers.
There are many different fingerling potato varieties that grow in different colors, including purple fingerling potatoes!
Fingerling potatoes have a thin, edible skin and soft, buttery flesh. They taste delicious baked roasted and seasoned simpy with fresh herbs, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
Ingredients in air fryer fingerling potatoes
You need just six ingredients for this healthy air fryer recipe:
- Fingerling potatoes
- Olive oil
- Rosemary
- Garlic powder
- Kosher salt
- Pepper
If you are unable to find fingerling potatoes, you can use another small or baby potato variety.
How to prepare fingerling potatoes
Since fingerling potatoes have an thin edible skin, there is no need to peel them before eating them. To prepare them for cooking, give them a good scrub to get rid of any dirt on the skin. Then, thoroughly dry the potatoes with a clean dish towel.
You can cook them whole, but I like to slice fingerling potatoes in half the long way to cook them. Slice them and add your seasonings.
How to cook fingerling potatoes in the air fryer
- Start by preparing the potatoes as instructed above.
- Toss the sliced fingerlings with olive oil, fresh rosemary, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Transfer the seasoned potatoes to your air fryer tray or basket. Spread them out in an even layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. If you have a small air fryer, you may need to cook in two batches.
- Air fry for about 20 minutes until potatoes are fork tender and crispy golden brown on the outside.

If you do not have an air fryer, you can make roasted fingerling potatoes in the oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and season the potatoes as instructed above. Place them on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and roast for 30-40 minutes. Toss the potatoes halfway through to ensure even browning.

- Wash the fingerling potatoes, scrubbing off any dirt. Thoroughly dry them with a clean dish towel.
