Air Fryer Kale Chips (plus 3 flavors)

Delicious and nutritious kale chips are made super fast in your air fryer. This crispy, healthy snack is a crowd pleaser and perfect for munching on any time of day.

Base Kale Chips Recipe

  • 1 bunch of curly kale
  • 12 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Spicy Kale Chips

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

Garlic Parmesan Kale Chips

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp finely grated parmesan

  1. Remove kale leaves from the tough stems. Tear into bite size pieces.
  2. Wash and dry the kale leaves thoroughly.
  3. Put kale in large mixing bowl and add oil, and salt. *If making spicy kale chips, add the red pepper flakes and smoked paprika. If making garlic parmesan kale chips, add just the garlic powder.
  4. Gently massage the kale to evenly distribute the oil and seasonings.
  5. Spread in one even layer in your air fryer basket or tray. You may need to cook in a few batches.
  6. Set air fryer to 350 degrees and cook for 2-4 minutes. Check the kale at the 2 minute mark for burning, and continue to check every 30 seconds until crispy.
  7. If making garlic parmesan kale chips, sprinkle on the parmesan cheese right when the chips are removed.

Storing leftover kale chips

Kale chips are best eaten right after you prepare them. But you can store leftovers in an airtight container in your fridge for 1-2 days. If they are no longer crispy, put them back in our air fryer and cook until crispy again.
