Ingredients in cottage cheese ranch dip
You need just 7 ingredients to make this recipe, most of which you probably have already in your pantry!
- Cottage cheese: Cottage cheese is a curdled fresh cheese with a mild, salty flavor. For this recipe, I recommend using full fat or reduced fat cottage cheese because it has a richer flavor and creamier texture when whipped.
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Dried parsley
- Dried dill
- Fresh chives: You can sub dried chives if you are unable to get fresh ones. See the recipe card at the end of this post for instructions.
- Fresh lemon
- Salt to taste – Cottage cheese is a high sodium food. You may find that this dip is salty enough without adding any salt. Make this dip without salt, then add a little bit to taste if you think it needs a little more salt.
Kitchen equipment needed
To make this recipe, you’ll need:
- Food processor
- Measuring spoons
- Rubber spatula
If you do not have a food processor, you can try to make this dip in a blender. You may need to scrape down the sides of the blender a few times.
Cusinart Food Processor
This is my go-to food processor that I’ve had for over 10 years! It’s reliable and efficient at making dips, dressings, nut butters, and more.
Step-by-step instructions
Use a rubber spatula to scrape the dip out of the food processor. Put it in a bowl and dig in with crunchy veggies, chips, or crackers.

Cottage cheese nutrition benefits
Cottage cheese is known for it’s high protein content. One half cup of 4% cottage cheese provides 14 grams of protein. Cottage cheese is also a source of several other nutrients, too!
One half cup of cottage cheese has:
- 80 mg calcium (6% of your daily needs)
